Counselor Sign-up
Adult Volunteer Counselors
Camp Celiac could not be possible without our wonderful adult volunteer counselors. If you (or someone you know) would like to make camp a reality for our kids and enjoy a week of delicious gluten-free cooking in the beautiful Livermore, California wine country, please consider volunteering. As we are limited in the number of kids we can serve based on the number of volunteers we recruit, please register as soon as possible. In particular, we are always in need of male counselors for the boys' groups.
Counselors can register for one (or both!) weeks.
Counselors for Week 1 will need to arrive on Monday, July 23rd (the day PRIOR to camp starting)
Counselors for Week 2 will need to arrive the morning of Saturday, July 28th for orientation & training.
To Register:
Please complete the THREE STEPS at the bottom of this page (links active February 1st). All forms are completed on-line.
If you have questions, you can email campceliac@gmail.com.
Finally, if not previously completed for Camp Celiac, volunteers need to complete a "live scan" background check. Once you register, we will email you forms for the fingerprinting & background check. You can also go to http://ag.ca.gov/fingerprints/publications/contact.php to find the closest center.
Parent & Other Family-Member Volunteers
We are very grateful for our terrific family-member volunteers! Each year, family- member volunteers help fill the gap between the number of non-family volunteer counselors available and the total number of volunteers needed. If we have more family-member volunteers than space priority will be given to family members with celiac and based on gender needs. Given gender needs, last year there was not space for mom-volunteers.
The goal of Camp Celiac is to help campers develop confidence and independence. Thus, family-member volunteers will sleep in the cabins with campers, but they will not be with their own child/family member. Volunteers help supervise the cabins, meal times, arts/crafts, and other activities.
Dads are especially needed to help with the boy campers/cabins.
Please complete the three forms below:
1. Volunteer Registration Form
2. Health History Form
3. Liability Waver (now online!)
