Junior Counselor Sign-up

Campers ages 16-17 may choose to register as a junior counselor.  If we have more junior counselor applicants than space, priority will be given based on age, gender needs (for balance in the groups), and prior camp experience.  

Junior counselors may register for one week only.

WEEK 1 of Camp:
Junior counselors arrive at Camp on the afternoon of Monday, July 23 for orientation/training along with the adult volunteer counselors.  

WEEK 2 of Camp:
Junior counselors arrive at Camp on the afternoon of Monday, July 28 for orientation/training along with the adult volunteer counselors.

Junior counselors will be assigned a camper group with whom the counselor will spend most of his or her time and junior counselors will likely sleep in the cabins with younger campers.

Registration Priority:  While we still give priority to junior counselors from Northern California, we have more flexibility with junior counselors than campers and often have junior counselors from outside Northern California. Due to high demand, we can only accept junior counselors with celiac disease.

Registration: On-line registration for junior counselors opens on February 1st.  After you complete the registration steps outlined below we will notify you by email as to whether we have a space for you or whether you have been placed on a waitlist.  Registration is not complete, and a space at Camp is not guaranteed, until you have received an email confirming registration and space availability.  For junior counselors registering by February 14th, we will inform you of your registration status by March 5th.

While we charge only $25 for Camp, we rely on donations to pay for much of our camp programming including archery, arts and crafts, medical supplies, a dance with a dj, sports equipment, board games, etc.  Please consider making a tax deductible donation to support Camp Celiac at Camp Arroyo.
