Camp Celiac COVID-19 Protocol (Subject to Revision)
1. All staff (counselors, junior counselors and other adult volunteers) must be fully vaccinated and have had a booster shot within 12 months of the start of Camp.
2. While we strongly encourage all campers to have been vaccinated, as of now we are not requiring campers to be vaccinated. Please note this policy may change before Camp depending on COVID-19 developments.
3. All camp participants must take a COVID-19 test upon arrival at Camp (we will provide the test). Campers will not be allowed to check in to Camp until the rapid test result is obtained (and is negative). We therefore strongly encourage Camp participants to take a COVID-19 test at home before travelling to Camp.
4. All camp participants (counselors, junior counselors, campers and vendors) will be screened upon arrival at Camp for COVID-19 and flu symptoms. If the Camp medical personnel believe the participant poses a risk of having Covid or the flu even though the participant tested negative for COVID-19, the participant will not be allowed to attend Camp.
5. No camper, counselor or jr. counselor should attend Camp if they had a close-contact COVID-19 exposure within the five days before Camp; for example, if an immediate family member had/has COVID-19.
6. If a camp participant exhibits COVID-19 symptoms during Camp, the participant must take a rapid COVID-19 test. Adult participants who test positive must leave Camp immediately and child participants who test positive must be picked up by a parent or guardian as soon as possible, but generally no longer than within a couple of hours. Even if the participant tests negative, Camp medical personnel may decide that the participant should leave Camp based on symptoms.
7. Due to our strict sick policy, all campers and junior counselors must have a parent/guardian available to pick them up at all times during Camp.
8. Masks will not be required at Camp; however, camp participants are of course welcome to wear masks whenever desired. We will have masks available at Camp, and there may be unique circumstances in which they are required. Please note this policy may change before Camp depending on COVID-19 developments.
9. To facilitate the at-Camp COVID-19 test taking and check-in, check-in times for campers will be staggered. We will advise you of your camper’s check-in time at least a week before Camp. For planning purposes, check-in will be at 10:00 a.m. at the earliest.
